Warranty Terms & Conditions
What's covered, what isn't, and exactly how to make a claim. In plain English, because a warranty you can't understand isn't worth much.
Coverage by Package
| Package | Parts | Labor |
|---|---|---|
| Repair | 1 year | 1 year |
| Protect | 5 years | 5 years |
| TrueSafe Lifetime | Lifetime — for as long as you own the home | 5 years, then a $99 service fee per visit |
Coverage starts on the date of installation and applies only to the specific parts we supplied and installed. It covers failure of those parts under normal residential use.
Condition of TrueSafe Lifetime Coverage
Lifetime coverage requires an annual TrueSafe tune-up.
Springs, cables and rollers wear based on balance, lubrication and opener force. We can't stand behind parts on a system we haven't inspected in years. Miss a tune-up by more than 90 days and Lifetime coverage reverts to the 5-year Protect terms. Get current again and Lifetime coverage resumes.
What Isn't Covered
- Parts we did not supply and install
- Damage from impact — vehicles, storms, hail, fallen objects, break-in attempts
- Damage from misuse, forcing the door, or running the opener against a broken spring
- Work performed on the system by anyone else after our installation
- Commercial or multi-family use, or any door cycled more than roughly 6 times per day
- Normal wear items: bulbs, remote and keypad batteries, weather seal, paint and finish
- Rust or corrosion from standing water, flooding, or coastal exposure
- Pre-existing conditions on parts of the door we did not replace, including panels, tracks and the opener unless listed on your invoice
- Labor after year 5 on TrueSafe Lifetime, which carries the $99 service fee noted above
If You Sell the Home
TrueSafe Lifetime coverage transfers one time to the next owner of the home, provided you notify us in writing within 30 days of closing and the annual tune-up schedule is current at the time of transfer. Repair and Protect coverage is not transferable.
How to File a Claim
- Call or text 469-238-1831. That's the fastest route and it reaches Andrew directly.
- Or email andrewjwhitework@gmail.com with your name, service address, and a short description of the problem.
- Have your invoice handy if you can. If you can't find it, we keep records for every job — your address is enough for us to look it up.
- We'll schedule a visit and confirm whether the failure is covered before any billable work begins.
There's no claim form and no third-party administrator. You call us, we come out. If a covered part failed, we replace it under the terms above.
Opener Manufacturer Warranties
Garage door openers carry a separate warranty from LiftMaster, in addition to our labor coverage above. Manufacturer warranties cover parts only — the labor to diagnose and install a replacement is covered by your TrueSafe package, not by LiftMaster.
| Opener | Motor | Drive | Parts / Battery |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chain drive (2420) | 5 years | 1 year | — |
| Belt drive (Elite) | Lifetime | Lifetime | 5 years / 1 year |
| Wall mount (98022) | Lifetime | Direct drive | 5 years / 1 year |
Manufacturer terms are set by LiftMaster and can change. They generally apply to the original purchaser at the original installation address and are not transferable. We'll confirm the current terms for your specific model on your written estimate.
